Hey- For my English class we are doing debates. Our group choose to do Affirmative Action.. I wasn't there to choose the topic- *****es... I would have chosen Drinking age or legalization or marijuana or something like that.

Anyways.. I'm arguing against it.. I wish to abolish it- not my choice either there.. but I'm sure there are many points.

Can anyone help me think of 4 main questions/topics/points i can focus on?

Emotional appeal is also needed.
Ive researched many articles and have someone of a start.

In a society where racism (and sexism for that matter) will financially (and publicly) plummit your business into a pit of Chapter 13, affirmative action should be abolished.

Admit it, it's a good opener. (Although it'll probably be above the heads of most of your classmates.)

Other points:

1. If each man is truly created equal, why should a white small business owner be forced to hire a less qualified black man, rather than hire a hispanic man with better credentials. (You can switch up the races because that sounds pretty racist.)

2. When a woman is hired due to affirmative action it is substantially crumbling the business' upkeep. Not that a woman has any less abilities than a man but when an employee is one of a kind at a business (which is the case when affirmative action happens), he or she is often tormented due to the abnorm that he or she is bringing to the work setting.

Ok it's not that great but I tried. I wish I was in your class. Your getting to debate about issues that really matter, yet you want to argue the legalization of marijuana. You guys better look alive and get out of this petty stuff.

Btw: My teacher is the one who sugested topics like legalizing marijuana and other topics such as gun control.
Theres also hundreds of articles in my school database about the legalizations of Pot-
Its a comin topic -.- and I can see why you say its pathetic, but Connecticut had just legalized it for medical purpose.

..Hahaha. You have no idea what you're talking about. No one is forced to higher anyone who is underqualified. I'll give you an example let's say there's a white man and a black woman going for a predomantliy white job, both -equally qualified- the black woman would get picked over him. And this isn't even all the time, it's just filling a 10% quota - which isn't much and the same applies for white people, mainly white women who benifits the most for AA.

AA(Affirmative Action) can work in the oh-so oppressed white male's favor let's say when he's going into a predomantly black college like an HBCU.

I suppose what Mr.First wrote would be good for entertaining and feeding into your average white person or well your average idiot.

And there's nothing wrong with "Pot", it's far more safe than legal drugs like alchol and tabbaco.
