to me its still more fun playing UO than WoW, 4 kind of skills books, 60+ kind of skills, pets you can mounts and train, houses you can own and decorate , dungeons.. bosses...musical instruments,, UO FTW!

UO is the one game that I have played for years, stopped playing, came back to play again and get the same satisfaction from it.

Free shards are great so you can still get the oldtime feel of the game without all of the expansion packs and extra glamor.

As for the graphics, its a hell of a step up from what they were. They sure look a lot better compared to the 3D models they started using in AoS and up. If they chanced from a isometric gameplay to something more like WoW, then the playerbase would literally disappear, just like SWG. The isometric gameplay is what UO is all about, without it, its not UO its another game entirely. Thank god it doesnt look like every new mmorpg out on the market.

For whoever said it was too hard to learn, Im sorry but its not that hard. Theres not much of a learning curve to the game. Obviously it needs more then just pick up a sword and do a quest or two then beat everything up, but even still its not hard.

I signed up for the beta, and chances are slim to nothing of getting in, I will still probably buy the game to add to my collection of UO titles.

Exactly.. The kids that are not old enough to even know what UO is.... They will automaticly say "This game sucks" Just by judging the look from the screenshots...

If you played it back when UO was the top MMORPG... You wouldent be saying anything bad about it unless you never played it...

The gameplay in the old UO was just amazing.. compared to any mmorpg out right now.. UO gameplay is probly still the best in my opinion, every other mmorpg is the same thing as any other... UO just has it all, they had to keep the same look otherwise It would probly be like every other mmorpg and that would kinda stink... if you younger kids don't get this... then get out of this thread.

yea its nice to see the game is getting some new life breathed into it and still getting worked on, to bad few, well barely any games after this games release long ago haven't had a brutal pvp like this one, being feared of loosing all your gear in one kill but then again some of the older updates wasen't dependant on gear as much but when it was more dependant, loosing it all, it was great, it gave you no mercy.
