I don't believe they ever said anything about raising the level cap in GW:EN. It would be utterly useless, and unbalance the ENTIRE game. In GW2 there will be a lvl 100 or infinite lvl cap, and it will be a more traditional MMORPG. I just hope they retain some strategy such as the 8 skill bar thing.
Don't ruin a good thing A-net!

in GW2 they plan to have less skills than GW1 since the hundreds and hundreds of skills soon became too many to manage.
instead they will have a smaller amount but the skills will do different things in different situation. eg. using a skill while jumping will have different effects than using the same skill while being surrounded by enemies. also there will be jumping and swimming and other stuff not seen before in GW1 |

The thing about raising the cap in GW 2 is pretty much confirmed but to what maximum level is not confirmed yet and the exact implementation is not announced yet and is just a speculation.
For more info, http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2 (Guild Wars' own wiki, not the one from the official Wikipedia website) Basically this link also contains information about interaction with the environment as well like jumping, swimming, climbing trees.. |

I don't think an increase in level cap is really going to make things more fun, its just going make getting to the max level take longer, which should be the opposite of what they are trying to do.

Everyone's been saying the same thing about level cap. But the thing about level caps is how they manage it, if the level cap is high but not too much of a grind, then it's a good thing. Afterall, different areas to explore for different levels could be a good thing. And Guild Wars IS really good at originality afterall.

This has been posted before, I'm sure we all know. I'm not trying to be mean but its true that this was found a long time ago.
BTW. The game isn't coming out in 2008, thats testing, Lik *G Lead* said he thinks he saw them say they EXPECT it to be 2009, or 2010 *wow 2010 that sounds so big lol.* GWEN as far as they said will have no lvl cap. They even said that on G4tv. But also note, they might not. Erm I think we will have like 4 new classes. Charr *we use to fight in Prophs as mobs* Bear-Humans *they can transform into bears* Plant-Humans *they are basiclly plant people.* And something else that were npc in Proh and pets in all. ~Roh |

And GWEN is not raising the level cap... it's still 20. I, for one, can't wait for the new dungeons in GWEN, and I kinda want to see what these PvE-only skills will be like. I honestly don't care about GW2, it's still a huge amount of time away. |
