No cd fixes arent warez, they are just a way to bypass the bullshit that makes it impossible to play a game without the CD. Technically, there is nothing illegal about this, and GameBurnWorld is a completely legal site. They won't even let you post anything that sounds like warez on their forum.

Basically, you just replace the original EXE file in the folder you installed the game to (Usually program files) with the fix and then run the game like normal. If it's a patch and not a fix, then yout just copy/paste the patch file into the folder that the original EXE is in and run the patch (Be very careful about this, patches especially are prone to viruses, and while gameburnworld is usually good about this stuff, it's best to scan it anyway).

It's illegal if your using it to patch a game you do not already own, but if you own the CD then I don't see why the convienience of not having to hunt down that damned CD whenever you want to play a game would be illegal. Or at least thats my understanding. Does anyone out there have a site that details this? I swear I read somewhere that it's perfectly legal as long as you own the game itself.

Technically it is illegal because making a fixed exe requires reverse engineering of the protection / game code, this is not allowed by the eula.. thus.. its illegal... common sense really..
So the talk of no-cd cracks are not allowed ![]() Although I think virtual emulation is legal.
