How to combat lag? (inRO) - Ragnarok Online

Hey, I just downloaded it yesterday, installed and started playing.

BUT.

Its horribly laggy, I have my firewalls off and everything, yet it still lags.

Is there any way to stop this? >.<

I'm in the newbie training area, if that helps.

I have lag as well. I think it's because of my location.
