I prefer Role playing, PVP Only characters can only fight other players(which is hella fun) But if you make a roleplaying you can do the storyline, quests and all that stuff, and pvp. granted pvp would only be good once your lv 20, its easy to level.

Starting with Roleplaying should be fun,then go PvP after,in my opinon.

Tell us which part in role playing you're stuck and maybe we can help you out. And may I ask which game did you get: Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall?

You can always make a PVP character in cases like you're stuck on you PVE character. It would also be fun to try making a character of a different profession from your PVE character so you can have a feel of how it plays, PVP-wise.

This way, you can get the best of both worlds

my first charector was a pvp warrior it sucked! b/c i had not gotten used to the game yet so i decided to make a necro because i wasa pwnt by one. i made my first PvE necro and loved it dearly especially when it came to the lvl 2-10 pvp arena in ascalon(prophecies), Kamadan(nightfall), or shing jae(factions).
i started in prophecies i loved PvP i hated PvE b/c im way to umm slow at lvling. i wasnt doin all my primary quests so i lvld too slow and. finaly got my necro to lvl 20 once i had one i was happy with that and bought factions made a warrior a ranger and an assassin got them all to lvl 20 now have many PvE charectors which own and have no real need to make a PvP b/c PvE can do anything PvP can do. once u get started u cant stop. its better in my oppinion to start with a PvE char

my brother deleted my necro im thinkin about startin a new one again.

Fact that you can use any upgrades for free makes pvp characters unique from role-playing characters. Having one slot open for pvp is always good idea. Of course, rpg characters have advantage that they can do both but you will have to work hard to make the character compatable to pvp characters' versatality.

Although for the life of me I can't delete my PVP character (ranger) because she's got all my crafting materials and stuff Thus I can't try out a dervish (PVE is lvl 3 atm) nor a rit (still befriending luxons)...

*goes back to cleaning out inventory*

Roleplaying Definatly!

Instead of rushing into PvP the first time playing guildwars with all those skills, Roleplaying takes you through the story and lets you have some time with each skill to know what they do/dont do.
