I believe that's only due to hacking reasons. They (Wixon) will not let you hook onto the game, after clicking your character. Well if you truly don't use any tools that can potentially affect the game in any way.. there's another way to solve this. Firewall. I doubt it but.. there's this thing you do to edit the HOST file in your windows file. I highly discourage you to use it but.. If your desperate to MS; I'd say you go for it.
P.S I'll edit the file instructions in a bit. (It works 100% fine). Use at your own risk. -No virus found- Edit: ok people here Copy this into notepad, save as HOSTFix.bat, and run it with administrative privileges, then run MapleStory. Gameguard should now update correctly. @echo off :Instructions: :: ::Save as HOSTFix.bat and run. :Notes: :: ::If you are using Windows(r) Vista(tm) Make sure to ::Right click->Run as administrator for this batchfile, ::Else you will get access denied messages. :begn cd %windir%\system32\drivers\etc if not exist HOSTS goto :faild attrib -r %windir%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts :fixr echo # Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp. > HOSTS echo # >> HOSTS echo # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses (72.234.204.79) to host names. Each >> HOSTS echo # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should >> HOSTS echo # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. >> HOSTS echo # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one >> HOSTS echo # space. >> HOSTS echo # >> HOSTS echo # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual >> HOSTS echo # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. >> HOSTS echo # >> HOSTS echo # For example: >> HOSTS echo # >> HOSTS echo # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server >> HOSTS echo # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host >> HOSTS echo. >> HOSTS echo 127.0.0.1 localhost >> HOSTS echo ::1 localhost >> HOSTS attrib +r %windir%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts echo Done. goto :ext :faild echo Couldn't find HOSTS. :ext echo Press any key to exit... pause>nul Yes, this was leeched from some ancient JMS fansite. If there's something you do not understand feel free to ask. I've dont this on my laptop, and it works fine. Many errors are not my fault. I take no fault for your own actions. Others please be aware as well.
