Lightbulb Examples of a Good and Bad Community

For new players questioning the community, I made this thread for people to give indepth examples of the community.

Now some people actually think theres a good community.
But others say the opposite and go farther.

I tried to go more indepth then just starting off the thread with flaming by you saying what happened

Here's what people think...
Bad Community-
Good Community-

What community experiences have you experienced...
What happened?
Why it happened?
Impact after it happened?

This is a good idea.

First off, I would like to say that bad language breeds a bad community. It's hard to take sum1 seriusly wen u r all speekin lik dis 0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0 lololololol u suk n00b ur gay u cant play 4 sh!t

Point taken? No?

The other thing is that the game itself breeds singular, independant players who couldn't care less about anyone else, compared to the cooperative team structure of World of Warcraft or Guildwars. Yes, that is starting to change, but the core of the game is still the selfish, do-the-best-for-my-character-and-who-cares-about-the-rest single-player quest-driven setup, and no amount of multiplayer side games is going to change that.

Yes, you get the odd good person, but the fact is that they are so few because they are drowned out by the hordes of antisocial gamers who have a superiority complex the size of small truck, and thus after months, maybe even years of trying to find some enjoyable company, they just . . . leave.

Bad Community Reason:

No doubt because 1/2 of the players are too young to show compassion or act more open minded.

You all want the community to grow more mature but 5-10 year olds shouldn't speak like a 17th century Englishmen mainly because it's a stage of development.

You want to see a worst community? Warcraft 3 and all the older blizzard games are filled with the immature morons you describe.

A bad person is like a virus. He spreads his misery across the servers.

Bad language does not breed a bad community. Nonsense words breeds it.

Good Community Reasons:

It's based on opinion.

It costs a monthly fee.

Its a complicated game.
