Easy and enjoyable gameplay always makes a very good first impression on your first play time, then graphics and content has to be able to keep you going for more, playing through the grind and quests the game has to offer, classes are there to give a little bit of replayability for when you get tired of your initial character and also to help distinguish yourself from the rest of the crowd.

the perfect MMO needs high quality char customization, mounts, good pvp, almost no grind or a well hidden grind, good party and guild system, the requirement of partys to help u lvl and defeat stronger bosses, atleast decent graphics, a good crafts system, and the ability to have ur own house in other words perfect world lol

Definitely have a large community, hell they don't even all have to be mature. As long as it's interesting people you can come to hate or like. If it's somebody you dislike you can build a rivalry off them. And also a proper use for parties, each person can fulfill their roles.

I'm sorry, but isn't it sort of obvious that a good game would need good gameplay?

its needs ( in order )

1: graphics
2: gameplay
3: quests

it needs all 3 because gameplay is nothing without graphics ( like dragongem >.> ) graphics is nothing without gameplay ( scions of fate in my opinion ) and good quests are needed or its just good graphics with grind

thats wat i think
