FNB, you do realize that words tend to have more then one meaning right? So 'screw' can apply to this as well, and the way it's being used here is slang already, so really there's no point in spelling it like 'skrew'.

Rewarding you? And you did what exactly to deserve this 'reward', as you like to call it?
This argument really is getting pointless now. You see, if you were to say, "Screw that," some idiotic literal person that doesn't go around continental (sp??) US much would think your talking about screwing a screw in with a screw driver. Therefore, there's a need for the slang spelling...

Oh and to clarify, they're rewarding me for dropping 2 C-notes more than you on a next generation console. :-)

Wait, what? Well, if said literal person were to hear you speaking, then what would be the difference?

If we were speaking aloud, which we aren't, deciding the difference between the two homophones would be easier with clarity, tone of voice, vocal stress, etc. Try this:

Say, "Screw it in the wood," out loud. Now say, "Skrew you." You should notice a difference.

It's the same as saying 'I' and "eye" aloud. Though the words are pronounced exactly the same our vocal chords stress each word very differently. Though you can't examine the difference physically (without a highpowered voice analyzer...) your mind can. Also, there's always the use of context clues. If I said "I love you," aloud; you could assume that I wasn't referring to my eye. However, writing on the forums without effective means of hearing the way I say it, the word 'screw' has been translated in to slang to avoid confusion; though I did mis-use it by not using italics.

Once again, this argument is pointless.
