Playonline ID help - Final Fantasy XI

Can i use a playonline ID from the PC version on my PS2? Like buy the PC version not install it, but just use the code and what not to get on my PS2?

I understand you can do the opposite to play on the PC (using the ps2 codes) to play on the PC. So it should work the other way also.
