Just finished watching Evangelion Series... Bit scared now that I have to watch the movie. Didn't get what happened at the end though, why did shinji's dad fuse adam in to his hand? o_O

Might want to watch the movie before asking questions.

Don't bother with Death&Rebirth though, End of Evangelion is really the only one you need to see.

If he wanted to hide it then he could've just put it in a freezer or something in his office.

Also, anyone watch Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure? It's like Evangelion except a bit lighter and not as mind raping.

He put it in his hand because he needed to bring together Adam and Lilith to bring about the Third Impact (Or at least this is my understanding).

Spoilers ahead, highlight to read.

He accomplishes this by attaching it to his hand, shoving his hand inside (Yes, inside) Rei's breast, and then letting her fuse with Lilith (Though somehow I don't think he was planning on having his hand amputated in the process).

But I thought they were destroying the Angels because they were trying to prevent the 3rd Impact? Oh and another question, where are these angels appearing from? They just seem to spawn in random times and only around Tokyo and not the rest of the world.

Either that, or they have some serious self-pity issues and don't want to put the other countries in the middle of it.

They are trying to destroy the angels, but only because that is outlined in Seeles Dead Sea Scrolls. They want to usher in the Third Impact in such a way as not to destroy the world, but to merge all humans into one ambiguous entity (The orange goo Rei turns everyone into in EOE). Gendo wants to do (Roughly) the same thing so that he can be united with Yui.

And the Angels are the spawn of Adam, as the Lilim (Humans) are the spawn of Lilith. Thus, they have the Fruit of Life (S2 engine) and the humans have the Fruit of Knowledge (The human mind, ability to think and calculate, science). Both are needed for Third Impact (Thus Unit one's ingesting of the S2 engine and Shinjis involvement.) They are indigenous to earth, but haven't been around for a while (They don't really ever tell you why).

So, yeah.

Oh, and Death&Rebirth is not completely useless, but it's not a required viewing.
It is more or less a quick summery of the series to allow you to "remember" everything in the series and to also strengthens your connection with the characters.
