During Several Periods of sleep ive experienced Hypnogogia at which were id wake up and i cant move talk or anything, and theres a dark figure of me as if its holding me.
My parents say that its just when i wake up and my body is still sleep yet i tell them its happen several times during the week. My first experience was when i pulled a all nighter for WoW and it lasted for well over an hour(or felt like it). Some times i can feel that i can close my eyes. or move my head but then the rest of my body is numb and i cant even move it no matter how much i struggle. this is really creeping me out. DOnt ask why im on this acct. |

Seems like a mental diseased seems like u "immersed yourself" too much...
maybe u shud stop playing games late and start going outside a bit more... i know the cure but i just cant explain it cause its too complicated to be put in words... ![]() oh and i know u told people not to... why are u on that account?Makes it like u think someones following u.. wait ... straight from wiki Hypnagogia (also spelled hypnogogia) describes vivid dream-like auditory, visual, or tactile sensations, which are often accompanied by sleep paralysis and experienced when falling asleep or waking up. ----------------------------------------------- [edit] Hypnagogic sensations Hypnagogic experiences occur as one is falling asleep, while hypnopompic experiences occur as one is waking up--both experiences occur within the penumbra between sleep and waking (or vice versa). Experienced qualities vary, and include fear, awareness of a "presence", chest or back pressure, and an inability to breathe (hence the folkloric notion of mara-like creatures tormenting sleepers), a falling sensation or a feeling of tripping, but sometimes also joy. Auditory sensations are often described as incomprehensible noises rather than distinctive sounds. During the hypnagogic state, an individual may appear to be fully awake, but has brain waves indicating that the individual is technically sleeping. Also, the individual may be completely aware of their state, which enables lucid dreamers to enter the dream state consciously directly from the waking state (see wake-initiated lucid dream technique). The hypnagogic state is sometimes proposed as an explanation of experiences such as alien abduction, apparitions, or visions. Last edited by Fox Company; 07-17-2007 at 03:24 AM. |

It's called sleep paralysis, not Hypnagogia. I get it occasionally too. You can't get rid of it either, because it's not a disease. So for now, just get some over-the-counter sleep medicine.

I get this from time to time, For me i just start breathing heavily and can only move my head.Im aware that I am asleep and dreaming which feels really weird because im fully conscious of everything.
Personally i ve been trying to figure what triggers this, i would like to be able to control this state so ican control what i dream about.Sounds dumb i know but, hey when i have a good dream, i have a good day.
