For one, it's the official military website, and they even featured it in the newsletter, so I the impression that they (The experts) think it's real.

and beyond that the guys reaction after getting hit in the earmuffs certainly looked real enough.

What I want to know is what the fool was shooting at to make it ricochet back at him. It was a bloody 50 cal round, something that can take out most lightly armored vehicles.

*EDIT* And in answer to your other question, they didn't show his head because the camera guy probably had a little much on his mind. And it didn't actually hit him in the head, it hit his earmuffs, thus sending them flying like that. Trust me, if it had made contact with his body, he would be dead, ricochet or no ricochet.

Dam he's lucky. But he probably hit a rock or soething and it shredded, and a peice shot back at him. Or i think they were shooting at thivk iron. Because they said no more iron.
