I am very decent in Visual Basic 6/.NET, and I was wondering if there was a simple MMORPG source that just has walking and talking. Ive seen a few but they have also got things like spells and shops and I really dont need that. I just want those two. I am very good with clients and servers, but not good with DirectX or anything, thats why im looking for a prebuilt one. I saw and was interested in the Eclipse engine but it has all that other stuff that is useless to me and would be too much work to take alot of it out.

The word: "simple" and the word: "Massively Multiplayer Online Game" should never be said in the same sentence, they are as far away from the truth as can be.
What you are referring to are components of games. I doubt there are many sources that would tell you directly what you are looking for. However there are many "theories"(as we may call them, I'm lacking on the exact terminology(The word is not syntax)) on how to make components. They give you everything but the source. They tell exactly how to do it, only you make the actual code. Would you be interested in seeing some "theories" I would be more than happy to give you some. |

Okay, what I meant by SIMPLE is cut down, no extra stuff, just the necessary stuff (Connecting, walking, talking). My plan doesn't need most of the stuff other engines have. Thats what I mean by simple.
EDIT: Taking a look at ORE |

Walking and talking sum up about 90% of processor usage in any graphical MMO. That's why this isn't a simple request.
We just had a pow-wow the other day about this. It involves lots of collision detection, tracking locations, etc. (Though much simpler in VB I would imagine.)
