Eureka Seven is a must if you like robot blood. I have to warn you though, it's all about change.
Also try out Last Exile, Devil May Cry, Lucky Star, Ghost in The Shell, I've also heard that Scrapped Princess was good, and Darker than Black was pretty well received too.
But if you're going to go for anything in the list, go for Last Exile, Eureka Seven, Ghost in The Shell, and Scrapped Princess. Wait for the other shows to be completed.
