Yeah that seems to be the case with everyone, no one yet appears to need the VPN on while playing, nonetheless the more confirmation we get on this, the better.

However many of us seem to be suffering enormous lag spikes that we've never had before while playing the game. If the VPN is off it shouldn't have any relation to it, but it could be that they are throttling connections to & from Foreign IP's. For instance, when more than one foreign player enters a dungeon together, the lag gets fairly intense.

If anyone finds a way to deal with this, please post it here.

I normally just solo or play with Japanese parties, so I haven't tested playing with any other foriegn players yet since the ban. If they actually did limit the bandwidth foriegn IP's can use, then it's undoubetly because they wanted to stop the chinese people with bots from slowing down the server and causing lag for everyone- I used to experience those lag spikes in certain servers rarely before.

Looks like we're off the hook, the server was down for maintenance from 6 p.m. to 12 yesterday, and when it went back up a patch had been released. Seems the patch fixes several exploits and hacks so that they don't work anymore. Since that patch my connection with 2 other foreign players (1 other U.S. & 1 Singapore) has been absolutely solid, back to normal.

As for the players in China using various hacks for invulnerability, unlimited mana, or instant cast, seems many of these hacks are now nonfunctional.

Now I can only pray that they make a decision to use patches to fix hacks and stop blocking all foreign IP's.

I'm getting a 404 error accessing his site. Can someone confirm whether it's the same VPN (SoftEther) we are using at all?

That's what I was saying, I get a 404 error when I try to click the link ReportTool gave;

So as far as I know, there is no VPN where he was linking too. I'll tell you this though, it probably isn't the same one we're using to connect to Japan, and his VPN may not even offer a networked connection to Japan.

There's just too many variables here. Until something can be confirmed, we should stick with what we know works without fail; SoftEther.
