i don't know. I got Lotro because i really, really hate WoW and i had really mixed feelings about Vanguard (one side being the performance, i never buy a game that hardly runs on my system and on the other side there's the bug issue)
I'm pretty glad with Lotro, it has a lot of feeling, a large world (yet pretty dimmed atm, as more areas are implented with future content updates).
Graphics, well, can't argue with that, one of the more qualityfull graphics for mmo's out there. it might not look as good as vanguard maxed out, but it still looks pretty atmospheric.
although u sometimes get the feeling that VG looks kind of "platic foil-wrapped" like Doom III.
nevertheless, i don't usually look at reviews but look at the collective player ratings. If a game has a significant amount of votes more than another one, i'll probably check out that one first.
