That's 2 out of 4 and for what reason? Uhh let's guess... Because we live in the US. How much sense would it make for us to know the History of China or Indonesia. I mean sure it wouldn't hurt but you gotta think how much we're going to use that kind of stuff. How retarted would I look walking down the street reciting the French Constitution? "La France sera une République indivisible, séculaire, démocratique et sociale. Elle assurera l'égalité de tous les citoyens avant la loi, sans distinction d'origine, de course ou de religion. Elle respectera toute la croyance. Elle sera organisée sur une base décentralisée." See I feel stupid typing that, or copy paste for that matter. I mean just because we learn a great deal learning about US History, doesn't mean we don't learn other history. How else would I know your name comes from Atilla the Hun if all we learned about was US history. Last edited by Mr. First Name Basis; 09-03-2007 at 10:32 PM. |

Hm...I know some people that love school.
Then again, it's because they're parent never let them play games. There's this guy at my school that has never played a video game until high school. He's been in the basement of the school ever since, playing Counterstrike or something. |

And as for Attila the Hun, you could have easily learned about him on the internet. I know my last 6 years I went to school and we didn't ONCE go under the year of 1500,let alone outside of America...Which is pretty pathetic. |

Oh and about Attila, that's the point, I could have learned it from the internet, but World History taught me first. |

I like school i like the feeling of accomplishment that only comes from school related work. If there was a drug that help you get that feeling I would abuse it so bad..

I say the main problem with schooling, is that they only teach one way. Not everyone learns the same way, and the way teachers teach is only REALLY good for about 1/4 of the population. If we had hands-on activities, and things that I can actually RELATE to life, and understand WHY I'm learning them, maybe I'd be more keen on learning them.
When, EVER, am I going to have to write a ****ing "quote essay"? Honestly? I hope a criminal catches me and holds a gun to my head and tells me "write a quote essay, and you can go" sometime. Maybe THEN I'd like school. Doubt it. |
