XP dose not have that problem, as it maximum ram consuption on idle is 234MB and it can be even lower.
XP is faster then vista in many ways and supports all programs/games.

I recommend TinyXP Rev 9 / torrent sites, its the fastest OS reconfigured to maximize performance.
vista is ram dependant: it is, but not 8gb, i have 4gb installed (of which 3gb useable) and it runs smooth at hell

64bit vista is the problem for pristontale? you should know 64bit xp is ecen worse, in fact ive been able to play gta2 on vista without tweaking
i havent been able to play 2 games on vista so far, and that was CoD2 (menu, no problems, ingame a black screen) and rollercoaster tycoon 1 (screen froze on start menu, it did run further though) that was when i just got vista, over 18 months ago so it should be fixed by now

also some post i made a while back covering most of the vista is bad arguments
http://www.onrpg.com/boards/116807-p...1/#post1493921

if anyone takes that point of fabiann that vista will wipe your hdd upon shutdown of vista, ive contacted a someone who repaired pcs/hardware and gives lessons now, he said he didnt hear of that problem yet

Vista is just as good as XP, even better. You just need a better machine to run it smoothly.
All those "Xp is better then vista" complainers either have a crappy comp or havent installed Vista even once, even if they pretent they did.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...ta/mojave.aspx

read this, turds. It was the same OS as vista, but all the haters kept saying "oooh, way better then vista, so much better"

owned much?

This was one hell of a bump... Also I've never had issues with a game with my Vista, justa note.

It is true most people who bash on Vista have not even tried it. They are the people who would bash on RuneScape and Slipknot "Cuz it's cool".
RuneScape does suck tho... *cough*

XD it came with my new comp, and while im used to XP, i must admit that my computer has never booted up faster and nothing really lags, but that might be the specs XP besides when you have the processing power to spare, having an upgraded 'flashy' OS is nothing to worry about
