I could understand it if it was the Adult Swim fans, but they are minimum on these forums.
I would say about %80 percent of the people who download fansubs on this forum would no doubtedly watch other animes as well. You want to know why you hear a lot of fan comments about these series, because they are on going. For series that last 26 to 52 episodes, the character development is pretty much on a somewhat predicted path, as in you can tell that the character may reach a maximum development. With Series like Bleach and Naruto, since they don't really end, there is a sense of boundless unpredictability as to what the script writers may do. Essentially, we will never really know the final bounds that the characters are capable of. This is what gets people hyped about it. Yes, Bleach's story line has degraded from its origanal aspect, but it's still pretty god and interesting to watch from time to time. Oh, and yes, I've watched about half of your list and currently have the rss feeds to both bakaupdates and animesuki bookmarked, and about 1/4 terrabyte of space of anime (half of which is compressed to zip).

As for Samurai Champloo, unless you're mentally challenged, blind, or deaf, there's no reason as to why such a clear as day plot could be missed. Another one is Detective Conan. Some cases actually challenge your mind, which is something you couldn't enjoy if you couldn't understand it. I'd also like to point another thing out about that line -- Detective Conan was released in Japan of 1996. Most translators didn't start subbing the Conan series until the latter of the early 2000s, not to mention the main view points for internet videos and all after it was never developed until 2005. That said, it was never published in America until 2004. Unless you're really young, there's no way you could've experienced the awesome that is Detective Conan when you were in the 3rd or 4th grade. Unless you're Japanese. But that's another matter. I don't plan on trying to change your mind since it is a matter of opinion (no matter how ridiculous they are). Just defending my loved ones. All I can recommend to you is to quit watching anime. Period.

And if you want a good explanation for my dislike of Hajime No Ippo, then it's because it's a suey anime that droops on with a ridiculous plotline. Also- Quote:

As for the average statement, I found Hajime no Ippo, Death Note, and Monster all to be bland and would rather rely on much larger numbers for reviews and ratings. Death Note, I admit is way up there on the charts, but for what reason I have no clue. Personally (this is just personally) I found it bland and uninteresting. The plot was cool, and art was awesome, don't get me wrong, but the execution is where it failed for me. The beginning was slow, the characters were not easy to attach yourself to, and the setting was too common for my tastes. Monster just made me sick. The premise seems almost completely ridiculous. An outlaw doctor traveling all over Germany, trying, but to no avail to clear his name and destroy the seed of Chucky - not my do, son. Quote:
This block is too farcical for words. I doubt the plot has anything to do with your amazement. From what I've read, it's all about the art - not the story. I can't blame you for that, however, it's another cookie-cutter series revolving around the main character's desire for strength. As for my dislike for Hajime No Ippo? You could say, it's almost the same reason as to why you hate Naruto and Bleach. The only difference is that I dislike it because of it's prosaic plot. Not because it's a dragging-on-it's-rear-end on going series like Naruto or Bleach. Because it isn't. 76 episodes isn't bad at all. Quote:
That's right - your opinion. I'm not trying to be rude or even obnoxious (hard as it may seem at this point), but I've noticed that you complained about and even bashed a generic plot type, and then went on to list a series of the exact same type(Fighting Spirit/ Hajime No Ippo) as an amazing series. They all have the same core - in other words, they're lame underdog stories. So, care to explain to me what makes Hajime so much deeper than Bleach and Naruto? Then, would you care to explain why that type of plot is so much better than a simple one? I'm curious. Note: The series is relatively short, so a few fillers isn't enough to warrant a complaint. Go watch Naruto's 85+ filler episodes and then come back and complain. P.S. You win. i really don't like writing blocks of text to show someone up on something completely opinion based. It's ridiculous. |
