I've already molested that series to death, and the only FF games on the DS are FF3 and that Chocobo Tales game.
-wishes they'd remake Chocobo Racing for the DS- D:

Rune Factory is basically a combined game consisting of Harvest Moon and *insert random good RPG* so its not really your "standard" RPG although still a great game. As for Luminous Arc, I have nothing to say, except probably the best RPG for the DS. Since you tried Children of Mana, I guess I can suggest Heroes of Mana as well? Oh, and if you can wait, there's another Final Fantasy (Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - Rings of Fate) being ported, should be out sometime early 2008.

Luminous Arc is FF:Tactics Advance without jobs and hiring allies, but its still pretty good if your into JRPG strats.
Lunar Knights is an okay action RPG, but its pretty linear and the weather system can get annoying. Rune Factory is a good choice if you like Harvest Moon (farming) and some dungeon exploring. Contact, imo, wasn't really that great. custimization was nice and so were the weapon choices, but the gameplay felt kinda awkward and the fights can get annoying at times. i'd suggest you wait for Wonderful World (november) or FF:Crystal Chronicles/Tactics 2.

I didn't know Heroes Of Mana was out.
![]() Strategy RPG's aren't my favourite RPG subgenre, but Luminous Arc seems like it's worth a try. Are there any RPG's with a battle system kind of like FFX or Xenosaga Episode III? Except without the generic "OMG we have to save the world!" type storyline. And also, I saw a couple vids on Youtube of the DS version of Xenosaga Ep. I&II, but it looks like they've made alterations to the battle system and made it more Strategy RPG-like. Am I imagining things? Or did they really change the battle system?? ![]()

Yeah, Children Of Mana was a dissapointment. I wasn't expecting it to be a dungeon crawler at all. Heroes Of Mana looks a lot better.
