Actually you can, it's against the rules to swear in the ToS. The filter is only there for people who choose to ignore it.
I swore all the time when I played WoW, but only with the people I knew. There are a lot of people who have gotten in trouble for swearing in that game. Basically even though it's censored, it's against the ToS, which basically = ban. So if someone sees "#@^! you" or "piece of @^#!", they can report you and you'll get suspended, if it happens enough you'll get banned. Lame. I bet those same people get offended when they look at the symbols above the numbers on their keyboard. The thing is though, you won't get in trouble for it unless someone reports you. They do random checks on people, but I think it's mostly on what they've mailed (to check for gold buyers). They don't have time to scroll through millions of chat logs ![]() Reminds me of a time when this guy mailed me a scam (the "present from the argent dawn" thing), I just deleted it and sent them 50 letters, all saying "you fail at scamming and you fail at life". I was bored (I /who'd it, they were level 55...don't remember the name.)Anyway back on topic, I wouldn't lie about it, that's actually the last thing I would ever do in a situation like that. You and your friend should just e-mail customer service or account management or whatever (dunno which one), and explain what happened. I don't know how Lineage deals with sharing accounts though, so maybe just your friend should do it ![]() It's a really stupid reason to get banned. Last edited by Kyoudai; 09-13-2007 at 10:39 PM. |
