As far as stealing ideas goes, one could argue that every game that you ever killed a slime in copies Dragon Warrior, every RPG with a party system copies Final Fantasy, every mage in any game, movie, or book is a copy of Gandalf and Merlin, who in turn are copies of wizards before them. It's really pointless, everything borrows from everything else to some extent. The difference is in what it borrows and how it is implemented. Therefore no two games are exact duplicates and therefore trying to change someone's opinion of a game by insulting both them and their current favorite game is absolutely pointless since they obvious like their game for a reason. If you really want to change someone's mind, don't insult other games, instead give reasons for why you consider your favorite game the best; you may list something about it that others didn't realize it had, they'll try it, and they may actually switch to it... or not since what one person loves another may hate, but that doesn't matter because the whole point of this thread is to inform and convince the OP.
