Total Annihilation is awesome. Far better than Star Craft IMO.
You could try Sup Comm if you want, its like TA2, except it probably will kill your pc.

Oh and for your dilemma... since you didn't mention online play, a free rts called glest should keep you entertained for awhile. I found it on download.com. Just search "glest".

btw i cant play glest my grapich card doesnt support something with shadows

Kinda sad you said Starcraft is bad RTS. Maybe it's not noob friendly game with all the rush but most RTS is about rush.Explain yourself why you hate this epic RTS.

well, there's always Dune 2k and Emperor: Battle for Dune.

Or if you like some space RTS, give Homeworld a chance.

I know you played Warcraft 3, but do you have the expansion? If not I suggest you get WC3 Frozen throne
