that game was so awesome, loved playing any minutes of ToS
I actually found something, we all think that Rain is great when putted to npc when doing matches, but i tried to play her and i powned so much!!
tho if u do that i would suggest to play wit another player because Lloyd is not really good as an npc :P

Yah, I noticed that too...I tried to keep him out of my party for the majority of the game on my first time through. I made up for it by leveling him every now and then. Another person I didn't really like was Sheena. I hated controlling her, it just seemed so slow in my opinion, and by the time I got to her village, she wasn't that high of a level so I lost that duel. But oh well...

Lloyd is quite a good NPC if you set the right strategie :P he Consumes to much TP so that makes him useless so if you put the strategie "Don't consume under 50%" he's not that bad he will be around Zelos or kratos as NPC. I always play kratos Speed cast + Healing in Colluseum is OMG!! HOW NICE

But ToS isn't that challenging even if you do mania >.> if you want a Real hard Tales game go for ToA. Playthrough it once and choose unknown :P Evrything will triple (even the boss stats HP etc...) Youll get owned pretty bad >.> Arietta has 800 defence when you 1st fight her on unknown and she has over the 1800 Fonic attack when you fight her for the last time :P The AD skills are nicer then EX skills from ToS >.> you don't ave to choose the abillity just equip the capacity core lvl a few times learn the skills and they will be in the AD skill list even when you equip another Capacity Core
