Like the title says, I need GW buddies. I'm making an Assassin in the Factions Campaign and not a lot of people that I know have GW, so I'm looking for some buddies to make the game more enjoyable for me.

That's the offical Guild Wars forum. You will find a lot of people there looking for PuGs, etc. Good luck!

If I may, the official Guild Wars site is www.guildwars.com. It has its own official wiki page, which you can directly access in-game by pressing F10.

guildwarsguru is one of the many GW fan sites, and is among the widely visited ones. You can also take a look at the unofficial Guildwiki, as well as the incgamers sub-site Guild Wars Online.

Both Guru and GWO have sections devoted to player match-ups, hopefully you'll come across someone with goals similar to yours.

My pet project this month of March is getting my characters through the Factions campaign. You can PM me if you see me online (IGN Boi Choi) and maybe we can blitz through some of Cantha's missions

No worries -- Guru, and lots of other sites, are officially recognized by ANet as good sources of GW info. I think they're called Official GW fansites or something. That's why there are links to these sites from the official GW site So in a sense, you are correct.

I'm just saying that there are plenty of GW sites other than guru

There's also gwvault. And a site in gameamp. That's what I do remember from the top of my head

And yes, Anet staff (like community rep Gaile Gray, PVP balancer (?) Izzy, etc.) do post on these sites that they have officially recognized. This is to elicit feedback, ideas, suggestions, insights and comments from the player community in order to improve on GW.
