Well arguably the first and most important Halo 3 review is up at Ars Technica, although it is a review of the single player campaign only. A rather, dare I say, dissapointing score I think. 7/10.

The Good:

* Solid and well-paced campaign
* Well-told story completes the trilogy, albeit with a rather mundane ending
* New weapons and vehicles expand on past games successfully
* Level design is well-conceived and varied
* Interesting A.I. and enemy design keeps fighting interesting

The Bad:

* Environments are deceivingly small
* Graphics won't blow you away
* Not all of the vehicles and weapons are used throughout the game
* Relatively short campaign on Normal difficulty

The Ugly:

* The fact that there are people actually buying the game solely for the single-player campaign

I like the Halo series.. >__>

EDIT: On second thought and after reading some of the replies on that thread, my opinions changed. Halo is a good series but.. a 9.5 is a bit much..

Once they have a fanbase established, and millions of people screaming for more...they can feed you crap and people would still buy it. Ah, money. Its what makes the world go round.

Everyone has different opinions, and although I won't agree that Halo 3 should get anything above a 8/10, I know that there are some die hard gamers out there who love Halo. So, I guess everyone has different opinions about the game.

We won't really know how good it is until we actually play it...
