Gonna start watching now.

EDIT: Episode 1 was awesome... I can't find English subs of episode 2 now. T_T

You're gonna have to look at torrent sites like www.torrentz.com

I'd provide the links, but you know the most of all, rule violation would ensue, but believe me, it is well worth the download.

The episodes go by fast, but it fits well, as there is a lot of story to tell, as it is primarily a parody of those "most unlikely hero saves the world in a mecha but suffers great tradgedy along the way" animes that ussually have long boring episodes.

Note: You do not have to watch ep 16, origanally, it wasn't supposed to be apart of the series, but they felt they needed a re-cap episode at the 7 year jump.

It just moved a bit fast is all. I think they could've extended it without boring us to tears.

At any rate, I started watching it again and all I have to say is, "God damn! Rossiu got knocked the **** out!".

Seriously. Simon knocked his locks loose.

Explain to me what Kinon sees in Rossiu, though? How'd she make the leap from kamina to a 10-head punk?

And once again, a good series comes to an end.

I must say, at first, the ending felt a little "flat", but then the 15 (looks like) year jump ended it on a good note.

Simon from a little boy who saw himself as nothing but a tiny spec in the universe become the wise man spouting wise word of noone, like the Kamina who always admired.

20 years. Lawl. He's in his early fourties, now. I think they could've at least let Yoko keep her attractiveness, though.

But that is one of the most "closed" endings I've seen for an anime yet. Except for the possibility of a movie.

One thing about Gainax, though; they continue to make their mechs ridiculously strong. They've even destroyed the Eva's position in overpowered mechdom. And now, even the Organic masterpiece that was the Nirvash doesn't stand up to the Lagann.

god damn it. Just finished watching it, and it was probably one of the best animes I've seen ever... Loved the plot... Loved the plot-twists too... I mean, after watching the first episodes I would never have guessed that .... died... I mean, he was like the entire life of the show, and he just died... That sucked big time, and still it was, plotwise, and insanely cool thing to do.

The story kinda reminded me a lot of scrapped princess, but I liked that story as well so no problems there...

Any other series similar to this? plotwise, and with, loads of weird, but cool, characters and so forth? Doesn't have to involve mechs though...

How about from the same developer? It's not the same plot-wise, but it's still pretty nice. Even though you've probably seen it a bajillion times by now, check out "Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi".
