I want to deal a lot of damage and have a lot of buffs.
What characters should I choose out of those two?

Mages have buff skills and do lots of damage.

Warlocks are awesome, they deal a TON of damage, in many different flavors. They're not purely nukers, though.

Mages are awesome at nuking people.

if you want tons of damage pvp wise, take warlock if you want pve wise pick mage, warlock crits more and have more versatility, plus are easier to use at the end with good planning, mages are nukers, they do tons of constant and reliable damage but needs more planning than the warlock and thus are wee-bit harder to use

Warlocks are dudes wearing dresses whose main strategy is to run away from their opponent like little pansies.

I don't know if this is a joke or not but this is completely misleading and false.

It is true that warlocks do wear 'dresses'(robes) but so does mages; as they are both cloth wearers.
However their main strategy isn't to 'run away', they can out dps (damage per second) most if not all classes.

Their fears, death coils, howls of terror along with all their dots(spells that does damages over time) is incredibly overpowered.

On top of that, they have awesome minions which can substantially help them in 1v1 situations, such as a felhunter would own mages.

Mages are known as 'King of AoE(Area of Effect spells)' just because mages have more aoe spells than any other classes. However a warlock's Seed of Corruption (an AoE spell) can deal so much more damage than any of the mage's aoe spells.

Despite all this, i still picked a mage , but saying that a warlocks are pansies is very ignorant of their overpoweredness.

If you dont want to be pansy wearing skirt, be shaman wearing kilt... it has a difference (in names)... not to add you will die to both of earlier classes (w.lock and mage, well you can practically kill those, but will get chainfeared, kited to death so nvm.)


anyhow take warlock, you'll top dps meters in raids and have more survivability in arenas.

Chill, I was joking dude. Yes warlocks do pretty good damage in PvP especially in 1 on 1 situations, however, I feel mages have much more utility and can outdamage Warlocks in PvE.

Mages got poly and pyro, Warlocks got seduce and soulfire you choose .
