For the record,

1) Uninstalling and installing the Language Files does nothing.
2) Setting everything to Japanese in the Language and Regional Settings does nothing either.

I`ll go look for Asian Explorer now, and if that fails too I`ll wait for OuterRem's reply.

This lazy Korean developers, they should also make their stuff for the more reliable browsers, instead of further expanding the cancer that is IE.

I should be doing more relevant stuff that playing yet another MMORPG anyway. But after all this trouble I'm even more determined to make it work.

If all hope is lost, there is always one alternative to all this. Re-install. Sure it may take a while cuz of the updates but you'll never know if you don't try right?

Coincidently I was having the same problem.I occasionally play it.Like the day I reformatted my computer.I didn't have the east asian files and I was still able to play.Assuming that the update made the files mandatory??I also tried the website launcher, but after the login I get the dreaded 404.

I was hoping to leave the Re-Install as the absolute last resort. Because you got to admit it's a pretty crappy resort to begin with.

Anyway, quick question for the re-install scenario. Is it necessary to have the VPN Client turned on past the login to the site, or can I just turn it off after that is done? I'm asking because it's a bit unstable and it tends to disconnect quite a bit.

You can turn it off after you're done logging in past the IP check... Which is just logging in

Whadda ya mean cute? ;_;

Fluff, your browser is having a fatal exception error because the Regional non-Unicode settings in Vista is, like many other things, unstable.

I recommend acquiring another browser, to load foreign sites that break down like this. Please note that Firefox does NOT work with the Arad homepage.

Instead I recommend you try the Avant Browser, and see if it is stable.

Here is the link to Avant:

http://www.avantbrowser.com/download.html

--------------------
Tell me if it works, and if it doesn't, tell me exactly what problems you are having and we will continue to work on it.

--------------------
Once you have logged in to the Arad homepage, you may turn the VPN off, so long as you do not plan to continue browsing the website. If you are just going to start the game, then it should be fine.

What do you know? That worked, like a freaking charm.

But I still have a couple of questions.

1) Is Avant a japanese browser? Cause if it is, the name is kinda misleading.
2) Can we curse on these forums?
3) Is there a way to change quickly between Unicode settings?

The first question is just to quench my thirst for knowledge. The second one is because some curse words are so much better to use than their lite counter parts.

The third one is actually the important one. You see, while I was waiting for this thread to get some replys I put myself to good use and started doing some coding. At one point I got a syntax error, and when I placed the mouse over the error, the help regarding the error was in Japanese.

I`m guessing that was because of that setting about Language for non Unicode programs was set to Japanese. My problem is that if I want to change that I need to re-start my PC, and I am already forseeing that as very tedious after several times. Infact I didn`t even bother to change it, and found the mistake by myself2

I could learn japanese and leave with it, but I rather take the easy way out if there is any.

OuterRem: I am not running on Vista, I`m under XP. Just wanted to clear that out. My guess is that I just suffered a common case of "Shitty Browseritis". I`m really glad I don`t have to come in visual contact with IE anymore for probably the rest of my life.

Suvi: Explaining cute is very difficult, more so in text. You will have to go on, knowing you can write cute sentences. Even if you don`t know how cute they are.

Well that was awesome, I don`t think I will be posting anymore. I enjoy more playing the game rather than typing about it. Bye and thanks!

Glad to hear it man.

1.)I thought Avant was American made, but I think the team as a whole is a VERY international group. I'd have to poke around the site to know for sure.

2.)Shit yes. Erm, to my knowledge.

3.)Sadly no. Many people will have to restart every time they change the non-Unicode regional language settings, as well. And vista is also, somewhat unstable with it.

**Regarding this; if you are doing ANY installations, of ANY programs, I recommend you switch back to English right away. If vista breaks down when running a program that uses those parameters, then when you are installing a program that's supposed to be in English, it might be even worse.

---------------
Ok, you're on XP, uhh well same rules apply really, though I can't really explain why IE was acting like that. Regardless, Avant is just a shell for IE, so it's as if you were using IE anyway, without the instabilities and security issues, for the most part.

And yeah, switching back and forth is always a pain, but I don't know any quick work around for this, myself.

If you find one, please let me know.

IGN: Inai-chan

::EDIT::

Whoa whoa wait a second. You should be able to view the website even if you're Regional settings are in English. So long as you have the Asian Language pack and IME. You need your XP CD to put it on. And you've already added that it seems.

Just bear in mind that the game text might all be in gibberish. But some people don't care since it isn't legible to them anyway.

So it IS an option.

I would really like to play in some party but I just figured out it's not an option for me. I'll be playing Arad solo until a Global or North American version is released.

Just a few moments ago, me and a friend tried to play a dungeon and the lag was so aweful I just had to let the baddies kill me, that aweful it was.

My IGN is Fluff

Anyway got more questions on the game.

1) Up until what level NPC equipment stops being usefull?
2) I'm a Gunner, which skills should I avoid completely? There are always those no no skills, and I don't want them.
3) Which NPC do the stuff that matters? I`ve seen some that you can upgrade items with, at least that`s what it looked like, not that I undestand shit.
4) What are those pots? And how do I use them? Somehow they are extremly reminicent of scrolls in MapleStory, but again I'm just pulling that out of my ***.
