I'm looking for an anime that's pretty dark and messes with your mind a bit (Ergo Proxy, Elfen Lied, Gantz, Death Note are all watched). Any suggestions?

Darker than Black / Code Geass (surprisingly dark)

and i'm just throwing out Gundam 00 since it seems to going into the psychological direction

Yeah, I forgot to add Code Geass onto my list. I didn't really like Darker Than Black because it had a bit too much of the Sailor Moon element in it. I guess I'll start off with Paranoia Agent. Any others?

stand alone complex, not as dark and creepy but a bit perplexing.....

and speed grapher, its just wierd in a loli way
