-general psychology -clinical psycology -diagnostica psychology The diffrenc would not be too important for the use of your education though) I suggest to find the Uni you wana atend and get their degree course scheme. This should give you a detailed idea of what you have to expect. The very first courses you could look up and just check them out, you dont need to be a student to just walk in and atend the lecture in most cases. With doing all that you would be realy prepared at best, I didnt do all of it and it worked out pretty good with my studies; Im not into psychology, so I cant realy tell how usefull it would be afterwards. |

Since this explosion there are literally hundreds of new degrees; sports science, media studies and its variants, lots of philosophy sandwich courses and of course psychology. Sooooooo.... If you mean a bright future career wise for you, not really, not unless you go to an excellent and well reputed university and outshine all your peers. Everyone of my friends who took psychology at A-level (college) hated it. Perhaps it was just my crappy college. None of them carried it on at university. The people I know who take psychology at university do enjoy their course but often get tetchy if you compare it to sports science or media or comment on it being a 'lesser degree'. Basically the fact is this: study whatever you enjoy studying, because if you dont you will have a very crap time at uni. Dont let anyone else tell you what you should study or what is the "best" degree to study. What I said above is just my personal experience so in relation to you it means jack squat. If you are seriously seriously 100% totally only focused on what you want to do later in life as a career then yes I guess you could pick something you dont really know anything about since you think it would make a good job. But I wouldnt advise it. Basically do what Ronin said. Scout out a bunch of universities, have a look at the courses they offer, trust me they will be as varied as the stains on my dorm room carpet. Dont let someone pick a course for you but also dont pick a course that you may not like just because the university is really nice. Also dont pick a university you cant see yourself living at just because the course is awesome. Also, one more thing, im a third year history student so you could actually just disregard everything ive said as total trash. I dunno, its just what ive discovered over the years. |

The branches of psychology are seemingly never-ending. I can tell you right now though, that unless you plan on majoring in psychology at the very least, you're not going to get anywhere at all. Also, minor in business. It doesn't matter what else you study, anyone who doesn't minor in business in this day and age is making a huge mistake, it's an essential for whatever path you decide to take your career down.

Dont take a course because people say its best for getting a job or a future or whatever... unless its something you also enjoy. You have to make decisions yourself based on what you want and like otherwise youll just have other people making your decisions for you and youll probably regret it. |
