Ehh, I've mulled through both. For some reason with UT3 I can't connect to many servers, but I guess that'll change as word gets out and more people make more servers. I never bothered making my own, so I guess I'll try it in a bit. It did feel a little bit too much like UT04, but then again I guess that's not that much of a negative. It still looks phenomenal and you just can't beat that multiplayer.

For COD4, when I started to first actually play at the highest possible settings, all I could think about was "Holy shit, my eyes are happy". I'm not that much of a CoD fan, I picked up CoD2 a while back and I guess it was decent, but the gameplay just diddn't seem all too much fun. Sadly, aside from the setting shift CoD4 if practically the same thing. I stopped playing early, which is kind of a sign that I'm not going to buy it.

All in all, they're mostly cosmetic updates and as of now, I'm anticipating UT much more.

COD4 really surprised me.
The game looks as good as Crysis, and ran at a solid 60+ FPS, never dipping under, on highest settings.

They've got... really good programmers.

As for UT3, I thought it was pretty "meh".
It ran decent, but it seems like every server I connected to lagged.
I'm not extremely familiar with the series, but I thought the character movement was just stupid as hell, so a major turn-off for me. It seemed like everyone was flying around and bunny hopping like in DBZ, instead of actually running.

The hoverboard, vehicles, and "feign death" functions were all pretty damn cool--- especially the "feign death". You can hit "f" at any time, and your character falls to the ground, completely limp, as if dead. Then, you can freely jump back up and shoot people up just as they think they killed you.

Also, I loved the physics when you feign. You can like, watch yourself topple over, down stairs, off a ledge, etc-- funny as hell.
