I use most off the time a Flip deck and for shoes i wear either Globe or DC. Vans wasn't that comfortable >.> and Circa's dies to soon xD

But don't make the same mistake as me and don't start with a Pro deck cause you'll break your leg fast :P

Do NOT buy a shitty Toys 'R' Us/Wal-Mart deck.
Those things are shit.
Darksin is both overgeneralizing and over-simplifying and also the post hoc ergo procter hoc fallacy (or, "coincidence is not the cause").
He's using himself as the only example which is completely insufficient. Then, the reason he could have injured himself on that pro deck could have to do with almost anything. Because he started with a pro deck, that doesn't mean the deck caused him to hurt himself.

Start with a pro deck if you can. You don't have to go all out though.
Just buy a blank deck from any skate shop, and get blank wheels and trucks, but go for Bones Reds bearings. That way you can ensure your deck won't be just as crappy as you are and won't snap within the week. Be careful though cause the bearings are really good so don't go on any hills or anything until you can keep your balance.

get a feel of both normal and goofy styles. then learn balancing with one foot on the board while the other pumps. that should get you started

I don't need any pointers on my clothes ok? All I asked for was tips on how to skate and what board to get. I like adio's, etnies, and DC. The board I'm starting off with is a complete Blind board from skatewarehouse.com and it costs about 116$. Anymore tips?

Here is what the deck looks like http://www.a1skateboards.com/product...DBLI0REBD77500 . I built my own complete board though.

Blind uses just about the shittiest wood possible. Expect the deck to last two weeks.

I haven't skateboarded in forever, so after seeing this topic it made me want to skateboard. So I went outside, tried doing a kickflip, and I kicked the cement. I stubbed 3 toes at once. Now it hurts really bad when I walk. Epic.

The expensive stuff go way smoother then the cheap stuff. If you can't balance yourself you will most likely fall and you could be so unlucky that you brake something >.> think about it for a sec dude. No balance = easy falling
I didn't necessarily say he would brake his leg, he could be unlucky and fall in a wrong psoe so he could break his arm or something >.> that's why starting with cheap stuff is better then starting with expensive stuff " Like if he buys the expensive stuff right away and doesn't want to skateboard anymore cause he doesn't think it is as fun as he thought. Then he's stuck with things that maybe cost him $100/200 dollar >.> Blank Decks are maybe like 60-70 dollar but it's still some money for some people >.> so he should start with a deck he can get for like 20-30 dollars and he could always go to the expensive stuff if he likes it.

@Osiris, he probably looked only at the graphic >.>
