Whats the deal with the ranks? I know u get new skills every rank, but how do u rank up? When i make a video on Youtube i dont want ppl saying ooooo your a noob your only Exper rank at lvl 70 u suck. I was Master when i was lvl 63 or whatever they would say.

Look at the magic or sword skill tab --- you'll see an experience bar. When you use skills from that category, you get experience in that skill tab. When the bar is filled you get a skillpoint in that category (skillpoints for sword and magic are separate).

Now, it also shows something like 6/21 --- this means you have gained 6 points in that rank already, and you need 21 to reach the next rank.

Upgrade rank is derived from the magic and sword ranks --- the higher one of these two is used as the rank for Upgrade skills.

Special skills don't have ranks.

EDIT 1: "when you use a skill" --- buffs and healing do count as skill uses; lazy developers are the reason why you can't refresh a buff until it's almost finished, so they don't have to give fractional skill exp for refreshing a buff that has only partially run out. For a similar reason, the developers were unable to implement abuse prevention for Dash and Fadestep, so these don't give skill exp.
