Default Running out of disk space

with all the movies, games, music and pictures on my laptop ive barely got any room left on my harddrive. Ive already gone round and gotten rid of a ton of crap i dont watch/listen/need anymore but my 40gb are still getting pushed to the limit.

now theres a ton of crap on windows that im never going to use like windows movie maker, all those little games and other such crap, how do i remove all of that without screwing up my laptop?

The best way is to buy a new internal hard drive or an external hard drive. Stick the stuff you don't really need that often on the external.

In a laptop if you replace the internal you can turn the old one into an external. Thats the best way to go.

If you don't want to buy stuff run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag. Then go to search and click pictures and click search. Then videos. Delete everything you no longer want.

Remove all games, videos and music you don't listen to. I easily stretched my 40 gig hard drive.

Considering that the question was asking how to remove different Windows components, I shall tell you!

Go into Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel, and click the "Add/Remove Windows Components" button to the left. Once loaded, checked items are components that are currently installed.

To uninstall, uncheck the box.

Some components, such as Internet Explorer, cannot be removed. So only shortcuts on the desktop and Start Menu will be removed. Others, such as MSN Explorer, are removed completely.

Internal drives are becoming very cheap these days. 80+ gig drives can easily be afforded. Externals are still much more pricey.

Didn't you know? When someone asks how to delete certain useless programs it actually means "I want an external harddrive" go figure.
