Well, recently my laptop has gotten a lot slower at loading. When I turn it on, it takes A LOT longer to load than it did before. I recently had a problem with disk space, but I deleted a lot of old stuff, compressed all of my old files, and defragmented my computer, so that problem is now resolved. The problem of my computer's slow startup is, unfortunately, still present. It takes a very long period of time for the computer to load all of the icons in my quick launch tray (the row of icons in the bottom right hand corner), and the blinky light (the light which shows that the computer is currently performing an action, or loading a process), is continuously lit. After maybe 20 minutes, it will stop, and return to normal. Only then is my computer usable. Otherwise, it is way too slow.
Why is this happening? I don't have any viruses or spyware, I've scanned for all of that. Help me please, I don't want to have to turn on my computer an hour before I need to use it, so that I can use it.

youve probably got tons of crap you dont need coming on when you startup.
goto start > run then type "msconfig" without the speech marks. a window will come up that lets you change what starts up when your laptop boots. just turn off stuff you dont need. also wat antivirus stuff do you have? some are really bad for hogging resources. |
