FFXI: New expansion is coming out, they are adding "some" lower level stuff. They are also rebalancing all the jobs at the beginning on WoTG so they are on par with the new jobs. There is a shit-TON of more content coming and they already have the ToAU content in place and balanced. I'd definately go for FFXI at this point since I have a level 30 character to mess with. This MMO is very fun if you have an active linkshell (guild/clan thing) with events going on besides leveling. At 75 there is a lot of endgame content that from what I hear is pretty amazing as long as you don't run into dicks all the time. Wow: They are releasing 2.3.0 on Tuesday and levels 20-60 are getting way easier. The quests give you better armor and experience and they are lowering the xp required to reach levels. They understand that the original content is outdated and most of the fun of the game is pretty much endgame content. They are also releasing a new expansion and increasing the level cap to 80. Personally I don't like character movement in this game. I just can't stand it. Controller > Keyboard sometimes. Either way choose whichever one suits you more. Both of them have trials you can use to find out which you like more. If you pick XI the best server at the moment I believe is Fenrir. As for Wow I didn't play it that much, but I hear that most people go to low-population servers. Happy Gaming. |

mannn all you wow fanboys need to read what arc said cause its sooo damn true you most of you only like wow cause your VERY new to the world of onrpgs but like most of us we have played hundreds of mmorpgs and know exactly what we want to have i for one dont wanna be doing endless go here get this come back here quests they bore the shit out of me thats probs why i hated wow plus i thought it was ugly no offence its just me having come from playing a free trial of FFXI wow was completely fugly ok ok it has some nice visuals but the characters are just.....eww theres no storyline and the endgame looked boring that means pvp + raids + anything else your probs just gonna say omg what a noob he has no experience with wow but believe me i gave this game 2 chances i even subcribed once more and it was a complete wast of money and time while on the other hand i loved the story classes graphics gameplay parties in FFXI and i didnt play that very long too since i went on holiday and kinda forgot about it but still a great game even better for FF fans but even though you have read my verdict if u have the time free trial wow first
if u hate it then ok get ffxi if u like it you might as well stick with it remember ffxi doesnt have a freetrial since you need to buy the game and use a vlid CC to actually access the free trial which ends up costing money while wow is downloadable |

How about i just end it? ive played both.
Starting with FFXI. FFXI is very slow paced in the beginning, infact its very competitive and..grindy expect to die alot because the game forces you to play a race fit for that class or else the downside? you die,Alot. And lose Tons of exp. at some point i couldnt even level i'd grind all the way up to the last kill and die..it also causes frustration because you kill 2 things then you must wait 3-5mins to heal and do it all over again. Afterwards..around lvl 10 you're FORCED to join a party to even level right, some people dislike soloing even tho its a ffxi genre they should offer some solo capabilities. Alot of people love to take it solo as i previously stated. Mainly afterwards FF XI Doesn't have much more to offer than WoW maybe 1 or 2 extra features but those aren't even that great and I'm not trying to sound biased. The community there is a bit..DEAD there is usually no one is on and if they are its probably a bunch of people from japan who are on when you sleep,i find this disappointing also because i had to constantly change servers to find one with a active populace(i didnt). World of warcraft. WoW isnt really hard its a pretty easy game, you can solo or party(dugeons,Elite monsters,Party quests) and what not. People complain that WoW is generic alot, well you idiots all games are generic. WoW doesnt offer anything new but it does a good *** job of making thoes so called "old,Used" Game features new. There isn't much grind other than the fact if your Farming a item or something since u get bonus exp for when you're logged off or in a tavern chatting. The community is WoW is usually contradicted for kids, well its not. It depends on the server you play not the faction. i.E i rolled on a Role playing server i rarely ran into those "Assholes" or "Kids" in alliance sure there was douches and jocks who thought they were better than you,but isn't that what Ignore is for? So please before you can contradict a game have facts. Dont be a Noob.. |

Personally, I've never played either of these games substancially, but already I would lean towards WoW purely for the fact that I know so many people that play it. That REALLY brings an MMORPG home for me, and I only ever got the feeling from Maple. I mean, it's just cool to be able to go to a family barbeque, bored as hell, and then suddenly beginning an awesome conversation with my cousins about the latest expansion/dungeon/armour set. Bringing MMO nerdiness to real life ftw.
Of course, I really disliked the balance of races/classes and limited customization, but eh. What can you do? |

I personally have just recently fallen in love with ff11, but i still think that WoW is a better game...Its more solid, user friendly.
There is just more stuff to do. Better Pvp... im not a fanboy, because i play almost every mmorpg there is, but WoW is just the best. People that say its a fact that a game is better are retarded, because its all opinion based. and i love how half of arcdevils sentences dont even make sense. Learn the english language... |

This is a prime example at a post made of complete fail. You sir, need to get your facts straight. You DO NOT have to go solo after level 10. There are plenty of ways to solo now that the game has been updated to better suit parties that are lower then 6 people. You can solo just fine now. It might not yield as great of results as partying will but you can still do it. Odin is having a server migration because there are over 5000 people on the server at any given time. The community is NOT dead there are still tons of people around. Race doesn't matter anymore. All race does is tell you what gear you will need to buy instead of the majority. Parties are faster paced and if you are fighting for 1 minute then resting for 3-4 then there is something wrong with what you are doing and you are probably in a party filled with 2 monks a thief and 3 red mages. Parties are even faster now that 2handers got a major damage buff as well. From what I'm hearing it sounds like you played back in 2005 and didn't keep up with any of the updates. You need to pay attention to what how the ****ing game changed and stop trying to make an accurate opinion based off something that got patched ages ago. It's not the same game as it used to be. Period. |

WoW hands down - they don't even compare. I played FFXI for months before I started playing WoW, and once I started playing there just wasn't a point in going back to FFXI. FF is just inferior in every way.
