WoW Vs FFXI - Free MMORPG

I've been debating the past could days which game I should get: World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XI. Im asking other's oppinion on which of these games you like more and why.

World of Warcraft cause you can play uhm not-public servers =D

This shouldn't even be a question, its obvious that FFXI rapes WoW hardcore.
Not only did WoW mind control the endless masses of pedophiles and accelerate apocalypse, but it offers absolutely NOTHING NEW.
FFXI on the other hand, is a pretty damn unique game where if you find a good active party to play with you will have endless amounts of fun.

FFXI > WoW, to me anyway. 1. because it has a great community, and 2. because it was my first MMO ^^;

i think thats the only point where WoW is superior to FFXI

You know why?

These boards are so biased about WoW. I've seen so many people who hate WoW on these boards. I've noticed that there aren't many that actually like the game on these boards, but simply those that don't like or dislike it.

95/100 people on these boards will say ffxi is better, simply because they dislike WoW so much.

I MEAN SERIOUSLY... there's even a "why do you hate WoW" thread going on in the general section, with 80+ replies.

I suggest you ask this question on a more unbiased forum.

If I could go back in time to when FFXI just launched in NA, I'd play that again... I loved it and it's probably my favorite mmo out of all the ones I've tried. FFXI is still good now... but it's a bit harder to get started now unless you find a guild and some people that are leveling their subjobs. Otherwise you will have a really hard time finding parties due to no one being around your level.

As for WoW, go try out the trial version and see how you like it. It's still a pretty good game despite all the hate it gets around here.

I vote for WoW because its faster paced, better pvp, and just more fun. If you like to have to party then fall asleep fighting get FFXI. With the new Lich King expansion coming out for WoW. It should be cool to check that out.
