Default Lets see your $3000 Dream Computer.

Yawn, I was bored and I want to see what the denizens of Onrpg will come up with. Pretty simple, design the computer you would get if you had 3 grand to burn. For the price, ignore tax, since you'd probably save all the tax from mail-in rebates in most cases anyway. List the parts you would get, and links from where you would order. Oh, and you must start from scratch :P

Here's mine, using Newegg.com:

Cooler Master COSMOS case $189.99
Intel Core2Duo E6850 $279.99
EVGA nForce 680i $239.99
<2 x 1GB> Corsair Dominator PC28500 $169.99
EVGA 8800GT Superclocked (2 in SLI) $579.98
PC Power and Cooling Silencer 750 Quad $179.99
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Falat1ty $145.99
Samsung 22" LCD Widescreen $319.99
Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard $48.99
Logitech G5 Laser Mouse $54.99
Western Digital 150GB Raptor Hardrive $184.99
Western Digital 750GB Caviar Harddrive $179.99
Asus DVD/CD Burner $32.99
ASUS DVD-ROM $20.99
Windows XP Professional SP2B $139.99
Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System $54.99

Total Cost - $2823.83

Let the customization begin!

well, seeing as my current system would retail somewhere around $3000, I'd have to go higher than that to put together anything worth-while.
Luckly, I already have that on-hand.

http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/...Number=4526914

Cost comes up to about $12k, but it will last for years. And smoke out all other systems. ;P

Oh, and with the drives, I'd have two hardware RAIDs.
The first one is where I put my hard drive. Two 145GB 15000RPM SAS drives, and then six 1TB 7200RPM SATA drives for storage.

Oh, and massive speaker set and monitors included, but cooling system excluded cause newegg doesn't have much in the way of water cooling.
But to give you a basic idea, nearly everything is going to be liquid cooled. CPU, GPU, RAM, ect.
But the radiators will be for a total of 10 120mm fans

It'll come with it's very own satellite and when someone's being mean to you online you hack them at SUPER lighting speed and crash the server's and destroy there house with a build in laser on the back of my very own supah dupah COMPUTAH! >=oooo!
