If you have a couple of hundred bucks you could get a comp that could play most games. The only real reqs are RAM, Graphics Card, and Processor. The recommended reqs are for decent gameplay not required to run.

Same goes for the amount of RAM and the RAM of your gcard.
he has 896mb of ram, wow requires minimal 512, as i even mentioned i could run it on a 256mb ram, fx5600 and an amd 1.86ghz singlecore cpu, so i cant see the reason why he lags unless he plays on high with a resolution of 1920*1680, wich he probably isnt

Wow! I never saw this sticky before!! THANKS

I never really considered myself low spec before, until recently, I wanted to try Second Life and it wouldn't let me, and more recently Florensia I can't play because I don't have "shaders"... and Rohan, there was so much lag and I know it was part the game, but mostly my computer.

However, I've been gaming with my Dell Dimension 2400 and onboard graphics card (Intel Media Graphics Accelerator) for years and hadn't had any problems running from simple byond games, to MapleStory, to WoW, Knight Online, ROSE, and Fiesta.

It's only recently that I've fallen prey to the "need to update" attitude... my computer is about 7 years old now, but its hard to justify shelling out the money for a new one, when, besides games (which I don't HAVE to constantly try them all) it works perfectly well for my oocasional Dreamweaver/Photoshop needs...

I'm cheap so I'm in the process of searching for a cheap-o computer that I can just add RAM and a graphics card to to be able to game for a few years.

You arent listening. I said that it has to be equal;

256mb ram and 1,8GHZ can run fine together, but with medium ram(~900mb RAM) and a low processor (1,8GHZ) he might suffer alot of lag.

they are both free right now because i see the requirement for video cards and it says 16mb minimum and thats quite low imo

You can play them fine even if your computer is a little bit old

The reqs does not have to be equal. A 1.8ghz can run every f2p game at the market. Even WoW, Lotro, DDO etc. His ram is very fine too.

Not sure what information you need to help me , but I'm looking for a game like WoW that
won't lag on my computer (looking for 3d or just overall decent graphics). Any suggestions?

Right now I'm looking through the choices on page 1 and will see if there are any good choices while I'm waiting for some suggestions.
Everyone seemed to miss that although it says 1.6ghz, he is running a dual-core processor. I think RAM is your biggest issue... especially if you're running Vista.

I would go through the list and find for yourself what you like best.
