Video Card Question

Hey guys, got a little comparing question about videocards.

Right now I have a RADEON x600 for my video card, and I need to upgrade it. I was looking on newegg and found this card, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130285 .

How much would this boost up performance? Should I buy this or just get some more RAM to boost performance (I have 1 gig of RAM right now). Oh, and I have a 100$ budget.

What are the rest of your specs. You wouldn't want to have some super powerful video card with a 1.0ghz processor and 512mb of RAM.

Well I have a Pentium 4 3.2 GHZ processor, 1 gig of ram, Windows XP Service Pack 2, and the ATI radeon x600. Hope this helps

Also depends on what games you're playing/planning to play.

Look at my siggy =P Hellgate london is what I'll be playing.
Darkfall in the future, but hellgate for now.

the geforce 8500GT is a horrible choice if you are planning to play any game at all, the 8600GT-8600GTS is a great choice for a low price and will give you much more than the 8500

If you are thorn between the 1G of ram and the 8500GT I would say get the 1G ram, it will greatly boost perfomance on everything you do, while the 8500GT won't do anything at all, or just save some more money and buy the aforedmentioned cards or even a 8800GT which has great price

Alright well I'm looking at the 8600's... But I notice that these do not have the 512 MB of video memory. Will that affect anything?

first of all what type of mother board do you have PCI-E or AGP ? for those specs you dont need a over kill gfx card
