How do you combo? I have the blinking red bar but when i hit A,S,or D it doesn't do anything.

You have to press the right combination of buttons. The Sealbox Wiki page tells you the button combos, I think.

options. In forgot which one, its the middle one I think

The first skill you learn, Martial Combo is only for fists. Later on when you get your job, you need to max out Martial Combo to learn your job skills. BTW it needs no SP to master.
