Hi guys again
If you have contributed in my previous game dev threads then THANK YOU SO MUCH i feel like i could hug you. Thanks to your help I just got a client in my game dev business and its for an online basic graphics war multiplayer war game (A frickin big mouthful!!) and i have done all the artwork. Now i have a budget of £50 and was wondering what was the best game developing program to buy. I have a time limit of up until the end of november to buy the software and start. I am really looking forward to this (and am getting paid to £100 so its really important i can get street cred in the field) so please repond A.S.A.P. cos you guys are like the best ever. There is dark basic(non pro), the 3D game maker and FPS creator from The Game Creators (Thegamecreators.com)

If your not looking for top of the line graphics then I can suggest Dark Basic as Ive used it years ago. Its really easy to learn the language and It had a big community with lots of code snippets. The only thing is I dont think it can handle a mmo. If it does great!

The pro may, it supports multi-player, try posting on the game maker's forums to see if it does because I have no idea.

Wow this is amazing. Today I went onto the game creators forum to look at w.i.p's and I cant believe how advanced the DarkBASIC language has become. It IS possible to make mmo's or online games in general. When I used to experiment with BASIC there was no way to even save a game. I say go get DarkBASIC PRO! I even saw a rts tutorial with code snippets! That would really help get you started using the language!

Still learning the ropes

I used Darkbasic PRO to experiment on a little bit, and although not a well-rounded programmer, it felt to me as if it was very limiting.
I don't see an MMO being created with Darkbasic, and if it was, im pretty sure it would be pretty crappy due to flexibility issues. Plus the program was really buggy, did shit automatically to my graphics card when i was messing around with arrays and certain code would work one day...and then the next day it wouldn't work, no changes made to it. So yeah, I'm going to discourage use of Darkbasic and ask that people stick to a C language or VB.
