Anyways, I partially agree with your implication that heavy action animes lack a good character development and such. Though I think the romance/comedy/drama either tend to be childish and lack characters you can relate to, or contains unnecessary exaggerations and tasteless ecchi embedded in the otherwise semi-realistic scenarios to impose an "adult theme". Hell, they often mix the two for the little loli lovers out there. The action/drama anime mix tends to be the best balance (And I'm not talking about a bond here, mech action there, panty shot here, lesbian kiss there) you get a good character development and are shown the cause the protagonist(s) is/are fighting for and the hoops they jump through to overcome the conflict, plenty of healthy bonding along the way, etc. Berserk, for instance. I just can't see how people want to watch an animated show of kids that go to school or do normal things. The great thing about animation is that it allows the imagination to extend onto paper, giving the ability to stretch/exaggerate the norm and show it rather than tell it.

![]() I hate animes with really annoying characters. I also hate those cookie cutter animes that just seem to copy from one another, like harem animes where theres 1 guy surrounded by tons of girls. I hate animes that have way too many episodes and drag on for too long. Yes, I'm looking at you Inuyasha, Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. ( I actually liked One Piece at first.) Quote:

That's all roughly in 30 mins too. haha
I thought it was a prequel/sequel to Ninja Scroll but it's just like a 30 min movie, barely if at all related to Ninja Scroll.

I dont like Naruto. :o I like the concept, the characters and the story line, i just hate the character Naruto. Something about just makes me want to... BLAH! I watched the movie.. something about an actress that plays a princess is actually a princess and they go to some snow mountain place and run into some dudes and yeah. I found it kind of interesting, but I still hate the character Naruto. |

Cleenex, I have to ask, "How old are you?"
You sound like someone with not enough years of plot analysis under there belt. By high school English class (I'm assuming you in a primarily English speaking country) you learn to notice the slight hints that determine what a plot is about. Claymores deep theme is Clare's overly need to avenge her motherly figure (can't remember her name) but is yet still pulled in by the real world by her developing relationship with the boy that began to follow her around, that reminded here that she is still human At the end of season 1, it was her love for the boy and the boy's love for her that allowed her to retake her human form. The underlying theme is romance. Not, a good romantic, sci-fi, comedy is Shuffle, now that was good. [on topic] Really, I watch most anime themes, however, the ones I really don't like are the ones that seem to just tug you about with no real point leading no where. There is a point, but it never seems your getting any closer and the plots of each episode are rather disappointment, the only thing that kept you going was the urge just to finish the series and move on. In articular, it is most commonly found in School-life animes that are meant for the dram and have no comedy or twists. (Don't get me wrong, some school life animes are great. School Rumble anyone?)
