Back in August, Sega filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office to protect the Dreamcast trademark. Now their original filing is good until December of 2009, this new filing has added some new terms to the mix that are sparking speculation of a Dreamcast 2 being in the cards.
http://kotaku.com/gaming/rumor/is-se...t-2-330869.php I would LOVE a Dreamcast 2, I'm trying to get my dreamcast to read my games again

Nope, not happening. Sega even said that they were finished with making consoles and they're only going after production of games now.

DreamCast was just the kind of thing that wouldn't have worked then, later, or now. It's just the way it was in function, it wouldn't really fit in with the older systems, PS1, N64, or thinks like Xbox/Gamecube/PS2, and there's surely no way it would really hang with the next-generation stuff. That's just the way it was, which was pretty unfortunate considering all the potential it had as a system.

Sorry but i found dreamcast to suck horribly.
yes i owned a mega drive and loved it but no that doesnt meant i have to love every bit of garbage sega produce. i preferred my playstation alot more to playing a dreamcast. i mean you walked into the shops and it had like one game spammed across the shelves, it was almost as bad as N64 and golden eye "hey kid you got an n64? you got golden eye yet? cmon BUY ANOTHER COPY!!! get THIS n64 and you get TEN FREE COPIES OF GOLDEN EYE!!! yeah golden eye golden eye golden eye BUY GOLDEN EYE YEAAAAAAAH" then i dont know what happened to my friend because i ran out of the shop screaming and left him for dead. eventually the distance muffled his screams sufficiently enough for me to realise id actually managed to escape. I dont think dreamcast 2 is a good idea. it was ahead of its time back then and didnt sell well... now its got to face established opposition... unpossible i say. |

Well you know if they could successfully pull off the console it would be awesome. But its too late in the console wars to introduce a console. They should wait till next gen if they pull amything.

Who the **** said Dreamcast didn't sell well?!?
You're kidding me right? Dreamcast was the best seller in Japan particularly for ages after it came out, i loved DC, it was way ahead its time and imo it was a better system than Xbox and PSX. What really killed DC was the lack of producers for it, PSX or better saying, Sony had the monopoly of the best titles and producers at the time. |
