A.) Its not modern its Scifi. The game takes place on other planets and some zones feature Alien Vs. Humans and operable Mechs.
B.) Free Infantry had a few zones and the older one sucked even more, but the ORIGINAL Infantry (Even though Harmless Games owned it.) is now free again.

C.) If you want to be technical; Infantry came out around 1998 or so; so Team Fortress is like a 3D Infantry.
