I hated Gurren-Lagann's ending now that I thought about it.

The best character ended up without anyone. Lone Wolves are only cool when they get wenches and respect.

But all he got was a disrespectful kid who couldn't even drill open a coconut.

Seconded, and Yoko developed a very manly chin at the end, which also butchered it for me. Still, it was a good watch throughout.

Tough choice between Code Geass, Lucky Star, and that.

I just avoided it until '07. Not sure why but I kept thinking it would be really sucky..

The robot action, right? I usually don't like it either. But its not to much to say that its a full on action movie. Its more comedic, drama, and romance.
