For the first two questions;
Basically the golden scroll, as far as I understand it, is when a Quest is exactly at your level and is relevant to the dungeons that you are leveling up in currently. At least that's always been my experience. I could be wrong on this.
As for death, this game doesn't really punish you for it, it just delays you so that you have to wait out the Exhaustion. We call it " Orz " which is just an emoticon of a guy on his hands and knees, a posture for failure.
As for the stats, I never really pay them as much attention as I should so I'll have to get back to you on that one.
